A LESSON ON AFRICAN HISTORY

In most researches about history especially about human progress and existence data is gathered through excavated ancient records and annals. However, if you ever want to look up about African history you may want to think twice before you look up to the written records about it.

Why is this so? Well because these written records were written by the European explorers about African history as they visited Africa. Back in those days, and even till now, the African kings do not write down their history. As their law basically states the law cannot be written or codified because it is held as the king’s personal interpretation of the divine justice and divine grace. Basically the law is passed down from generation to generations without it actually being written. To put it to a much clearer view, especially when viewing about their law, nobody can right what the law is which are the kings decisions. They may believe that writing it will make it compete with the king’s decisions and authority. Basically, if it is written the kings decision is constrained, in which they are trying to avoid.

As you can see, they really do not write their law. They just know that it is the law through the king’s decisions and through practice. Still, you can still find a lot of things and information about African history through the written records made by the Europeans explorers as they visited and studied Africa. However, these written records are the explorers own opinion and observations which can result that some of them may be judging these African tribes.

In their observations they have noted that Africans have different skin color, they also dress different. Furthermore, their values are more rooted inward and very connected to nature. This also explains that many African symbols have nature attributes drawn in their symbols. Also, Africans like to live simple lives; they do not want to chase the modern world. Their riches too are not about gaining a lot of money but their treasure is within nature itself. Though today, many tribes earn real money because often they need to buy goods in local towns.

As you can see, if you want a deeper understanding about the African history without any bias and false judgments it is best that you make an expedition of your own and learn to live with them. Of course, as said before, you would be risking your life, and especially now where other tribes have acquired weapons like rifles and guns but still, the African culture is quite rich and even in our modern world today, their cultures and traditions are still intact.
