EVERYTHING ON AFRICAN CULTURES

One of the most interesting cultures to study are the African cultures.  Not only are they scattered along Africa but there are really quite a lot of them.

There are quite many African cultures in different tribes that exist in Africa. The so called “Afar” tribes are found in Djibouti, Somalia and Ethiopia. The “Anlo-Ewe” tribes are once the residents of Notsie which then roamed in 1474 in the southeastern parts such as Ghana. Furthermore, “Amhara” tribes are in Ethiopia. The “Ashanti” tribes are located in the central part of Ghana. The tribes near the Atlantic coast are the “Bakongo.”

Some of the other tribes which can be found in Africa are Bambara, Bemba, Berber, Bobo, Chewa, Dogon, Fang, Fulani, Fon, Kikuyu, Ibos, Maasai, Pygmies, Mandinka, Senufo, Samburu, Tuareg, Zulu and Yoruba.  As you can see the African culture also contains a list of cultures contained around it. This vast cultures maybe because Africa is really a vast and a large country and, to add, this continent has suffered many invasions through the years.

Although their wedding may vary in the way they celebrate it. One most common thing that you can find in almost every tribe in Africa is that it is legal for them to have more than one wife. Of course, there are still, let us say, rules before one man can have another wife. He must be able to pay a so called “fee” to the bride’s family which can be in the form of livestock. Basically, if you are not rich in their terms, you cannot have more than one wife.

Another vital part of the African Cultures is the music and dance. Actually, the African people started singing, playing and dancing even before they have learned to read and write, in which both reading and writing were influenced by foreign visitors such as Missionaries that visit their place.

There are really quite a lot of African cultures you can find in, well, Africa! Of course, there are still common traits that you can find in Africans like their personal characteristics and even how they make livelihood.
