MORE ABOUT THE AFRICAN TRIBES

Africa is a continent that contains both the past and the present.  There are modern cities, buildings that exist in this continent and, furthermore, there are still ancient African tribes that still exist till today. Though some of their practices where affected by the modern times but their ancient and rich heritage still exist that has been passed down from generations to generations.

As said before, the tribes still have ancient practices that exist but some of them have been affected by modern technologies today. One example is their weapons; some African tribes today have access to rifles and guns instead of their usual bows and spears. First of all, African tribes are quite vast and sometimes hard to understand. This article will give you a bit of an overview on the things they do, they act, etcetera.

As just said, African tribes are quite vast thus you can expect that they have different ideals among themselves. These tribes have a wide-ranging variety of religious ideals and values.Paganism is known to be the very first beliefs and religions. They focus on ancestor spirituality and worship. There are however many other religions that have influenced some of the tribes such as Judaism and Christianity.

Another thing, though diverse, when it comes to these tribes is that they have really a wide variety of arts forms. Tribes of Africa are well known to have beautiful music which varies from tribe to tribe. Furthermore, believe it or not, these tribes are well versed in choral singing. Though in a language we do not understand but if you ever heard them singing, for sure, you will be amazed by it. These songs are often used in tribal ceremonies just like weddings.

The African tribes along the Atlantic coast are the “Bakongo.” Some of the other tribes which can be found in Africa are Bambara, Bemba, Berber, Bobo, Chewa, Dogon, Fang, Fulani, Fon, Kikuyu, Ibos, Maasai, Pygmies, Mandinka, Senufo, Samburu, Tuareg, Zulu and Yoruba.  As you can see the African culture also contains a list of cultures contained around it. The “Afar” are found in Djibouti, Somalia and Ethiopia. The “Anlo-Ewe”  are once the populaces of Notsie which then roamed in 1474 in the southeastern parts such as Ghana. The “Amhara” are in Ethiopia. The “Ashanti” tribes are located in the central part of Ghana.
